Welcome to the Creed Community

CREED is the young adults ministry (ages 18-30) of Christian Life Center in Stockton, CA. We usually meet on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. at 9025 West Lane. CREED is where young adults can connect with God and with each other. We take time to establish friendships, to worship together, and to get clear direction on the purpose of life and our place in the world. No fluff here – just real life issues as real people discuss the dynamics and dangers of being Christian young adults in 2010. CREED is not a program but rather a community – an open circle of friends that is always growing larger and getting stronger. Join the CREED Community as we embark on the Christian journey through life together.

CREED – noun 1: A formal summary of religions beliefs; an authoritative statement of doctrine; A confession of faith; as the Apostles Creed. 2: That which is believed; doctrine. 3: The young adult ministry of Christian Life Center. [OE creda <>

The Creed Redemption

The Redemption is a conference for Young Adults (18-30). It is going to held in Monterrey, CA - May 27-29, 2011

Every person starts their journey somewhere. For many, college and post-High School life is a very confusing time. It seems to be great, until you realize you are not sure where you are going and what you are doing. Direction evades us at the moment we need it the most. It seems as though all the plans we once had, dissipated into a past of adolescent immaturity, and now we are faced with life. Not cute, not clever, not hype, just... life. Life has a way of bringing us to reality. A reality that at times can lead us down the wrong path. But when you stop and reflect on your current location, remember, each of us has our own story. It is a story filled with wonder, adventure, action, thrills, romance and even some drama (in most cases lots of drama). But never forget your story isn't over. Every day you get-up and attend the class you’re not sure why you are taking, and clocking-in to the job you are not sure why you haven't already quit. Remember, your story is still being written. Time hasn't run out, there is still hope. The Best part of your story is still ahead and not behind. So reflect today. Change today. Do it today. Because today, your story is going to change. Today is another part of your Redemption Story.

“Christ Centered”

Matthew 7:12-14

The elections are once again approaching and we are being bombarded with a slew of information. Our sidewalks are being staked with signs, and our mailboxes are littered with fliers of candidates all claiming to be the “conservatives choice.” Every politician claims to have the answer to the current societal issues, and all of them assert to operate a campaign centered on integrity.

With all candidates, certain questions must be posed. Whether in a debate session, or simply a public forum, we the people, have the right to know certain information concerning the candidate’s lifestyles. We want to know about their family, friends, and acquaintances. We want to know about their personality, character, and temperament. We desire to know and we should know. After all these individuals will be speaking on our behalf. They will be the voice of our nation, state, city and even community.

I wonder what it would be like to have an opportunity to sit down and talk to these individuals. Not in order to achieve some sort of fame or recognition, but simply to ask the questions that are most relevant to me. If I could have that opportunity I would only need to ask one question. The question would be simple – “What is your house built on?”

An answer to that question would give me all the information I need. There would be no need to ask any other questions. I will not need to know who their friends are, or what kind of family they have, the one question would answer all other inquires.

Where a person builds their house tells you everything you need to know. A person that follows the teachings of Jesus is a person that has his/her life centered on Christ. In 2010 I am concerned with where we are building are lives. I do not need to know anything else about you right now. I simply need to know what your house is built on. Where have you put your priorities in this world? Jesus wasn’t concerned with family heritage, or even the ability or inability of the people. He simply implored them build their life on the rock. He urged them to build a lifestyle on principles that would never fail. In short, He desired every person to become Christ-Centered by living out the words he had spoken.

The challenge remains the same in 2010. Every person must find his/her path following the teachings of Jesus. It is, and should be, the goal of every true believer to live out the words of Jesus and become Christ-Centered.
